Wetlands
Assessment, Permitting, and Mitigation
Jones Edmunds routinely conducts preliminary wetland and listed species assessments for a multitude of projects. Our biologists—one of whom is a State-certified soil scientist specializing in hydric soil and seasonal high water table elevation determinations—possess a wide range of skills required to protect the environment, comply with regulatory requirements, and meet client needs. We have developed efficient and cost-effective approaches for performing jurisdictional and informal wetland line reviews—some of which are predicated on our GIS expertise.
Wetland mitigation can often be achieved by creating new wetlands, restoring degraded wetlands and uplands, enhancing disturbed wetlands and uplands, or preserving large-scale areas. Jones Edmunds ecologists are adept at identifying cost-effective mitigation solutions and designs that offer the greatest chance of success with minimal permitting requirements. We have developed wetland mitigation plans and designs (including monitoring) for over 50 sites throughout Florida.
