GIS

Since the beginning of civilization, clean drinking water has always been the foundation of any community. The success of water utilities today depends on their ability to face new challenges associated with declining water supplies, increasing demands, and multiplying regulatory pressures such as the Disinfection/Disinfectants By-Products Rule, Long-Term II Enhanced Surface Water Treatment Rule, and GASB 34.

Jones Edmunds' integration of computer modeling and GIS enables us to develop practical, cost-effective solutions to your drinking water concerns.

GIS facilitates economies in all aspects of water system management. Combining spatial data with traditional asset-management tools allows users to develop an intelligent database to map distribution systems, linking it to other areas of the water system. It also provides clients with an automated and integrated system for job planning, equipment inventory, and flow analysis. The display tools throughout the GIS software program allow users to target maintenance problems at the core so repairs involve minimal disruptions.

Legislative Funding Assistance

No project can exist without proper funding. Jones Edmunds provides professional support services from its satellite office in Florida's capitol, Tallahassee, to obtain funding from various federal and state agencies, as well as through legislative appropriation. We have the experience needed to help our clients navigate the confusing, frequently changing, and often overwhelming maze of funding sources, agencies, and regulations. We track federal, state, and local grant and low-interest loan programs and continually monitor the changing nature of existing programs as well as the development of new ones.

We help our clients combine funding to better use their finances to provide a higher level of service at a lower cost. We have also worked extensively within the legislative process and have had appropriation procurement success at the state and federal legislative levels.

Our goal is to help our clients become self-sustaining communities relative to their infrastructure needs, economic development opportunities, and planned growth.

Construction Services

Jones Edmunds understands the special requirements of construction-phase services. Members of our construction discipline have the specialized experience required to conduct a highly effective program of resident observation and construction administration. We focus on efficiency, practicality, and claims avoidance. We have the experience to anticipate potential construction problems, delays, and contractual conflicts, giving us the ability to effectively support our clients through construction as well as the start-up and operational phase. These capabilities reduce costs and minimize construction delays, which goes directly to our clients’ bottom line.

Our engineering and construction administration disciplines work together to provide services during the construction phase of a project. Jones Edmunds’ construction administration discipline is staffed with professionals that have hands-on industry experience. They take an active role in the design process by reviewing design documents before phase submittals and final contract documents. This activity allows us to address constructability during the design process rather than during construction.
