We have received awards and honors from numerous organizations and top trade publications including the following:


The Florida Institute of Consulting Engineers (FICE) recently recognized Jones Edmunds with the 2009 Engineering Excellence Grand Award for the H. Clay "Junk" Whaley, Sr. Memorial Water Plant in St. Cloud, Florida. We also received an Award of Merit for this facility from Southeast Construction magazine.  As America’s largest operating MIEX® plant, this facility features many firsts in water treatment and design.

Jones Edmunds obtained two honors in 2007 for the Polk County North Central Landfill Phase III Expansion.  We received the 2007 FICE Engineering Excellence Award and, in May 2007, along with Polk County, we were named an ACEC National FinalistJones Edmunds completed work on time and on budget despite the impacts of hurricanes and a greatly accelerated work schedule.

For the seventh year in a row, Jones Edmunds has made the Top 500 Design Firms annual list by Engineering News-Record (ENR), one of engineering’s principal industry publications.  The annual ranking is considered to be the industry’s performance benchmark for any engineering firm doing business in the United States. 

In the fall of 2006, we were also ranked 18th regionally and 13th in Florida in Southeast Construction magazine’s Top Design ranking of architectural and engineering firms.  The regional ranking includes 117 firms from Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, and South Carolina and was based on self-reported billing figures for projects completed in those states.

The Florida Section of the American Society of Civil Engineers awarded Jones Edmunds & Associates their 2005 Project of the Year Award for the design of the Alachua County Southwest Landfill's Gas-to-Energy and Leachate Recirculation System.

Winner of the 2004 National Society for Professional Engineers (NSPE) Professional Engineers in Industry (PEI) New Product Award in the Large category (250 - 10,000 employees). The award honors American companies and their contributions to society. Winning products were chosen for their exceptional engineering research, design, and overall impact on the national economy.

Out of 21 companies, Jones Edmunds was given the 2004 Outstanding Achievement Award in the geosynthetic projects category by the Industrial Fabrics Association International. The firm was given the award for a project involving the Bioreactor-Ready Bottom Liner System.

Jones Edmunds earned a Florida Public Relations Association Golden Image Awards Award of Distinction in the Public Relations Programs Institution category.

The campaign involved redesigning the Company’s logo, stationary, and Web site; creating anticipation with direct mail pieces and an employee luncheon; and revealing the designs to clients and employees. Finally, Jones Edmunds updated all promotional displays and materials and distributed media kits to local and regional media outlets informing them of the change.

One of four national finalists in the Civil Engineering Research Foundation's Charles Pankow Award for Innovation for its Bioreactor-Ready Bottom Liner System. The award recognized contributions of organizations involved in a collaborative effort that demonstrates innovative design, materials, and/or construction-related research and development transferred into practice that increases productivity and performance in the industry.

Senior solid waste engineers at Jones Edmunds were interviewed and quoted in a 2003 Florida Trend article called "Wasting Away." The article highlighted Florida's increasing problem with solid waste disposal methods and innovative alternatives to accelerate waste decomposition.

Awarded with the 2003 Governor's New Product Award for the Bioreactor-Ready Bottom Liner System. The Governor's New Product Award is given annually with selection based on a product's economic impact; use of innovative engineering principles; and improved function, ease of use, savings, and overall benefit.

Named Consultant of the Year by the Florida chapter of the American Public Works Association (APWA); also recognized for the design of the Bioreactor-Ready Bottom Liner System.

The Gainesville branch of the American Society of Civil Engineers awarded Jones Edmunds & Associates the 2003 Award for Innovation for the Bioreactor-Ready Bottom Liner System.
