EGC System
The Exposed Geomembrane Cover (EGC) System is site specific and designed to meet landfill requirements. An EGC system combines specific, in-place landfill systems throughout the design to minimize construction costs. Critical design elements include:
- Ability to Withstand Winds
- Exposed Geomembrane Anchoring Systems
- Stormwater Collection System
- Gas Venting System
Exposed Geomembrane Anchoring Systems Jones Edmunds developed a unique vertical alternating anchoring system to minimize propagation of contraction stresses on the geomembrane. This anchoring system minimizes downhill creep by continuously anchoring the EGC perpendicular to the slope.
Stormwater Collection System The stormwater collection system is designed to effectively handle increased stormwater runoff.
Gas Venting System The integrity of the EGC is critically linked to a gas venting or control system. This venting system facilitates the release of pressure under the EGC system.
