Community Outreach

Jones Edmunds supports communities across Florida not only through our services that support, enrich, and sustain communities and their growth, but also through our variety of  community and non-profit support activities. 

Our employees volunteer and participate in many local outreach events, serving their communities and working together for good causes.  For example, during just a few weeks in the spring of 2008, Jones Edmunds employees were directly involved with several non-profit fundraisers and community events throughout Florida while financially supporting several other worthy causes. Jones Edmunds people frequently take part in the following community events, among others:

American Cancer Society Relay for Life
Titusville office team charged the field during this outdoor fundraiser. The team raises money through corporate donation, individual team member donations, and on-site fundraising at the event.  Jones Edmunds also financialy supported the newly formed East Gainesville Relay for Life event.

Combining Florida’s famous outdoor lifestyle with a worthy cause is a great way to get involved. In any given year our people participate in dozens of local Corporate 5K races and golf tournaments that support a large variety of causes.

Helping Florida's college engineering teams
Jones Edmunds provides support to several of Florida's college student engineering teams.  We regularly provide financial support to the University of Florida Concrete Canoe and Steel Bridge engineering teams.  In 2007, we recognized both teams at our annual Fall UF BBQ. 

In 2008, we were a Silver sponsor of the ASCE National Student Steel Bridge Competition held at the Unversity of Florida for the first time in over a decade.

Junior Achievement
In addition to other activities throughout the year and across the state, our employees volunteer to talk to students about science, business, the environment and other topics.

Every year for the last 11 years Jones Edmunds staff have volunteered in the annual March of Dimes Walk America event to promote awareness of birth defects and premature births and to support research to eliminate the problems affecting newborns.

St. Johns River Cleanup
For several years our staff has participated in the St. Johns River cleanup efforts in Clay County, picking up trash along the St. Johns River.  Last year, Clay County had 577 volunteers who collected 12,440 pounds of trash.

Supporting Education
Whether through donating money and staff time to local school science fairs through programs like Seeds of Science, helping regional high school science teams, or supporting engineering schools at Florida's universities via donations and staff involvement, Jones Edmunds takes pride in its support of a variety of scholastic endeavors, including our annual support of the Tools for Schools program.  For this school supply drive, our employees make numerous individual donations that combine with the Company's financial support to provide local schools with much-needed supplies.  Annual support of the Florida Engineering Society's MathCounts competitions is another way we help education.

Thanksgiving Basket Drive
In the fall each of our offices participates in a local food drive that distributes food baskets to needy families so that they can enjoy Thanksgiving. Last year, Jones Edmunds employees donated more than 100 baskets of traditional Thanksgiving foods.

Toys for Tots
The U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program collects new, unwrapped toys as Christmas gifts for needy children. Every year Jones Edmunds participates in this worthy program.

Too many to list
Jones Edmunds also provides support to dozens of other worthy organizations such as Engineers Without Borders, the Alachua County Conservative Trust, local public school foundations, and the Girls and Boy Scouts of America.
