Jones Edmunds hires 30-year veteran as new Tampa office manager

Tampa, Fla. (April 29, 2009) — Florida-based engineering consulting firm Jones Edmunds & Associates, Inc. has hired Pete Stasis, P.E., an engineer with more than 30 years of experience, as the new manager for its Tampa office.   Previous office manager, Mike Strully, P.E., will be taking on the new role of Senior Project Manager in the firm’s new Winter Haven project office.

Stasis has experience managing, designing, and constructing a variety of utility systems. He has a comprehensive understanding of local, state, and federal regulations and extensive public and private experience in utility administration and management.  Stasis has managed numerous, diverse engineering contracts, which included engineer of record contract services and district-wide and continuing service contracts for Pinellas County, Hillsborough County, City of Tampa, City of Lakeland, Marion County, Hernando County and the FDOT.

As manager of the Tampa office, Stasis will oversee day-to-day operations of a full-service engineering office providing engineering services for water, wastewater, water resources, solid waste, stormwater, environmental and transportation design.  He will be responsible for ensuring that client service is consistent with Jones Edmunds’ core values of integrity, knowledge and service while making sure profitable operations continue by managing and developing staff, providing oversight and support for project-related activities and supporting marketing initiatives.  The Tampa office provides services not only to clients local to Tampa and the surrounding counties but also to clients across Florida.

Mr. Stasis has authored more than a dozen papers and publications examining issues related to air quality, waste to energy and solid waste.  He is also an Executive Fellow of the Leadership Development Program at the University of South Florida’s Institute of Government.  Mr. Stasis earned his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering Technology from Northeastern University.
