| 05/15/09, - Gainesville, Fla. (May 15, 2009) — Florida-based engineering consulting firm Jones Edmunds & Associates, Inc. has hired David Jones, P.E., an engineer with two decades of experience, as the firm’s new Water Resources Discipline Vice President of Design & Development.
Jones has extensive experience in applying Geographic Information Systems (GIS) technologies to solve water resource engineering problems such as floodplain management concerns. He has developed many automations and work process advances using GIS to increase work quality and pace. Jones has also created numerous database designs and GIS tools focused on hydrology, hydraulics and water quality. Over the years, Jones has worked primarily with the State of Florida water management districts, county and city governments, and other clients across Florida.
“Adding someone with such impressive credentials to our team really helps round out our Water Resources and GIS capabilities,” Brett Cunningham, Jones Edmunds Water Resources Director, said.
Jones will be tasked with implementing a consistent quality control program and providing professional development guidance for water resources and GIS staff. Among his other duties, he will travel between the firm’s Florida offices to coordinate and monitor quality control processes, technically guide staff, participate in project quality reviews and improve performance and efficiency.
Jones has produced more than 20 presentations and publications focused on GIS and water resources. He earned his B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Florida. |
